It’s the most wonderful time of the year, croons my car speakers. Of course it is. What’s not to love about that world-renowned, famous “spirit” and outpouring of jolliness that enters with the Christmas season, confirmed in all its glory by decades of equally-as-jolly music to match?

Every year, High Point University decks out its campus in celebration of Christmas time. From Christmas trees in every building to wreaths on every door, a Nativity scene, music and giant nutcrackers, there is something to get anyone into the holiday spirit.

The spooky season is upon us again. Skeleton and pumpkin decor is everywhere and bats are in the air. However, for some people, such as the freshman at High Point University, this is their first Halloween spent in High Point. Maybe their first ever Halloween away from home.
